Adult Counselling in Delta and Surrey, BC

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you're navigating depression, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, or a significant life transition, counselling can provide a supportive space to pause, reflect, and gain a clearer understanding of what you're experiencing.

I provide individual counselling for adults throughout Delta, Surrey, and surrounding communities through virtual appointments. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs, experiences, and goals. Together we can explore the challenges you're facing and work toward meaningful, sustainable change.

What Can We Work on Together?

Counselling can be helpful when you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward. I work with adults experiencing a range of concerns including:

Anxiety, OCD & Mood

Anxiety can affect how you think, feel and move through your day. I support adults experiencing anxiety, worry, panic, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, depression, and other mood concerns

Stress and Overwhelm

Sometimes the demands of work, family, relationships, and everyday life can become difficult to manage. Counselling can provide space to understand what's contributing to your stress and develop strategies for coping and moving forward.

Relationships and Parenting

Relationships can bring both connection and challenge. Counselling can help you navigate communication difficulties, conflict, changing relationships, parenting challenges, and the emotional demands of family life.

Grief & Loss

Grief can take many forms and doesn't always follow a predictable path. I provide support for people experiencing grief and loss, including the loss of a beloved pet.

Young Adults

The transition into adulthood can bring new responsibilities, relationships, choices, and expectations. Counselling can provide a supportive space for young adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, school or career decisions, independence and other changes during this stage of life.

My Approach

I believe counselling works best when i tis collaborative, practical, and grounded in a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can be yourself, explore what is happening, and work toward meaningful change.

My approach is tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all formula. Depending on your needs and goals, i draw from several evidence-informed approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, strengths-based counselling, person-centered and trauma-informed practice.

I am goal-oriented and direct when that is helpful, while also recognizing that meaningful change takes time. We will  work together to identify what matters to you, build on your existing strengths, develop practical strategies, and make progress at a pace that feels manageable.

And while counselling is meaningful work, it doesn't have to feel heavy all the time. When appropriate, I believe a little humor can create connection and bring perspective.

What to Expect From Counselling

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you're not sure what to expect. My goal is to make the process comfortable, collaborative, and tailored to you.

Our first sessions will give us an opportunity to get to know one another, talk about what brought you to counselling, and to form counselling goals. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start with what feels most important to you right now.

As we work together, we'll explore patterns, thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be contributing to the challenges you're facing. Depending on your goals, we may also develop practical strategies and skills that you can use between sessions.

Counselling isn't about telling you what you should do or having all the answers. It's about working together to better understand your experiences, identify what matters to you, and find ways to move forward that fit your values and life.

Because everyone is different, there is no set timelines for counselling. Some people come for support through a specific situation, while others choose to work together over a longer period of time.

About Jackie

Choosing a counsellor is a personal decision, and I believe that feeling comfortable with the person you work with matters. I bring warmth, curiosity, and a genuine interest in understanding each person's unique experience to my work.

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, I have extensive experience supporting people through a variety of emotional and life challenges. My experience working with youth and families has also given me a strong understanding of the ways relationships, family dynamics, and life circumstances can shape our mental health and well-being.

I believe that you don't have to navigate difficult times alone. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, working through a major transition, struggling in a relationship, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, counselling can provide a space to pause, reflect, and move forward.
