What is counselling?
Counselling is a talk based therapy aimed at helping clients improve and make sense of their lives.
Counselling often begins with an initial intake meeting to determine what changes clients would like to make in their lives. This initial meeting provides the client with an opportunity to assess client/counsellor fit and appropriateness of services offered. If you decide to pursue counselling, the counsellor and client will work collaboratively to meet the client's identified goals using a variety of counselling techniques.
How do I know if I am ready?
People often come to counselling when they wish to make changes in their lives. Some people describe feeling ready to solve a particular problem, make a decision, or understand themselves and their situation better.
It often takes time and a lot of hard work to reach your individual counselling goals, but if you feel ready to take the time and start making changes or still feel unsure, please call and ask any questions you may have and to see if counselling is a good fit for you.
