What is counselling?
Counselling is a talk based therapy aimed at helping clients improve and make sense of their lives.
Counselling often begins with an initial intake meeting to determine what changes clients would like to make in their lives. This initial meeting provides the client with an opportunity to assess client/counsellor fit and appropriateness of services offered. In some cases, referrals for other types of support may be required.
After the initial intake, counsellors and clients work collaboratively to meet identified goals using a variety of counselling techniques. Clients are encouraged to express their needs in the type of services they would like to receive, and are free to stop counselling at anytime should the service not meet their needs.

How do I know if I am ready?

People often come to counselling when they wish to make changes in their lives. Some people describe feeling ready to solve a particular problem, make a decision, or understand themselves and their situation better.

It often takes time and a lot of hard work to reach your individual counselling goals, but if you feel ready to take the time and start making changes, counselling can help you reach your potential.

If you're still not sure if you are ready, please call and ask any questions you may have and to see if counselling is a good fit for you.
